AW terminal for port of Kokkola

KL-Asennus provided a complex lattice steelwork structure for the all weather terminal at the Port of Kokkola. True to its name, this new facility provides shelter for ships, allowing loading and unloading to take place in any weather. Truly massive in scale, the terminal is 60 metres wide and 140 metres long. The lattice girders we created reach to a height of 35 metres, and the structure as a whole is partially constructed in the water. In total, 1,200 tonnes of steel were required for this six-month long project. The all weather terminal in Kokkola is the only one of its kind in the Nordic countries, with only a handful of similar structures found elsewhere in Europe.
